MAB Designs set out to explore antibody structures/technology that can discern and target antigens that are either membrane bound or circulating, but not both. For example our antibody structure can avoid decoy binding of soluble antigen when targeting membrane bound antigen or block pathologies caused by circulating ‘shed’ antigen receptor complexes.
Our antibody technology is unique and patented and opens the door to investigating the therapeutic activity beyond current indications limited due to side effects. As an example, blocking the pro-inflammatory IL-6 trans signalling without the side effects caused by blocking the classic IL-6 pathway, allows for a better side effect profile, in this case the response to infection and tissue viability remain intact.
